What is your role at Lawmatics, and what does your job entail?

I am an Implementation Specialist here at Lawmatics. When law firms buy our wonderful software, I help them structure it to fit their needs and train them on how to use it. Whether that’s helping them with intake and marketing automations, building forms, utilizing e-signature… the list goes on 😀

How did you end up working for Lawmatics?

While rummaging about on Indeed, I found a listing for Lawmatics, and I loved the name. So I looked into the company and applied right away!

What’s the best part of your job?

There is so much I love about my job. I think the best part is getting those emails a few months after onboarding is complete in which firms share how much Lawmatics has positively affected their practice. It makes me happy that I played a role in streamlining their intake processes and advancing their marketing efforts to the point where they can really focus on what’s important… their clients!

What challenges have you faced or opportunities you’ve uncovered working remotely during COVID-19?

I was hired when the company was fully remote. Starting as a remote employee was strange because it didn’t feel real at first! However, everyone was so active online, and we were always Zooming with each other, which helped so much. Working remotely has also made me appreciate working in person! I truly love getting to see my coworkers in the office.

Where are you originally from, and how did you end up in San Diego?

I was born in Germany then moved to Singapore at eight months old. A few years later, we moved to Michigan when I was three years old. Then, 11 years later, we moved back to Germany when I was 14 years old, finally back to the States to Connecticut 2 years later. I’ve moved and traveled so much that I don’t really feel like I’m “from” anywhere.

I ended up in San Diego after transferring to UC San Diego to finish my degree!

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I love hanging out with my boyfriend, Ryan, and our Australian Shepherd Griz. I also love going to the beach/surfing, arts & crafts-ing, dancing, and baking scrumptious things to eat while watching TV!

What is a fun fact most people may not know about you?

I can spin fire!

What is the one thing you can’t live without and why?

Sushi because it’s beautiful and incredibly delicious!

Can you walk us through your “Aha” moment - the moment when you realized how powerful the Lawmatics platform is for lawyers and law firms?

After we released our e-signature feature, I was finally able to see how Lawmatics could take a simple web inquiry and turn it into a paying client. After that release, our development team has come up with even more amazing improvements to the platform, which goes to show how robust it is and how dedicated we are to being the best we can be.

Based on your experience, what words of wisdom or advice do you have for legal professionals looking to help their law firms win more business, impress clients, and be more efficient?

Explore your options, even if that means stepping outside your comfort zone. If you are interested in SMS marketing and know you have an audience that may respond better to that, give it a try! If you always send the same emails, try switching it up and letting your firm shine through a beautiful newsletter! Putting your passion into your content will show your uniqueness and allow you to stand out from the crowd.
